This event is an adapted version of the conference with the same title initially planned to take place on 27 and 28 April 2020 in Zagreb, which will gather numerous participants, including researchers, representatives of ministries and agencies in the field of research, representatives of the European Commission and experts in the implementation of mobility projects.
The event is co-funded by the Horizon 2020 programme and focuses on policies and activities related to the part of the Programme concerning the mobility of researchers across Europe and beyond – the MSCA. The aim of the conference is to exchange experiences in the implementation of the MSCA activities under Horizon 2020 in order to improve the implementation and impact of this part of the Programme for the next period.
Through two topics, the conference will contribute to the debate on the importance of mobility and brain circulation as a key priority of Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the field of research. The first theme will focus on the contribution of brain circulation to a better research environment for national and international researchers, on attracting foreign researchers, improving research and innovation, as well as on the social capital in the EU.
The second topic addresses the importance of the MSCAs for the future challenges of young researchers and career development, the impact on cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary research, the establishment of open collaborative networks, and equal participation in mobility programmes.
The conference will also present a key document by which the Republic of Croatia wants to round out the problem of "brain circulation" during the presidency called "Zagreb call for Action on Brain circulation".
According to previous practice at the MSCA conferences, the most significant achievements and excellence of the MSCA researchers will receive awards in three categories:
